Why visit Cala Pregonda?

Cala Pregonda is one of the most striking beaches in northern Menorca. With its reddish sand, volcanic rocks, turquoise waters, and Martian-like landscape, this wild cove is perfect for those seeking a natural and unspoiled environment.

Furthermore, its calm waters—even in rough seas—make it one of the best places for snorkeling in Menorca, within the Northern Marine Reserve.

📍 Where is Cala Pregonda

It is located in the municipality of Es Mercadal, on the north coast of the island. It is accessible from anywhere in Menorca, although it requires a 25-minute walk.

🚶♂️ How to get to Cala Pregonda

🚗 By car

From Mahón or Ciutadella, take the Me-1 highway to Es Mercadal. Take the Camí de Tramuntana toward Binimel·là (signposted). Park in the free parking lot and follow the trail for about 25-30 minutes along the Camí de Cavalls.

⛵ By boat from Fornells

If you prefer to avoid the walk, you can arrive by sea. From the port of Fornells, there are options:

  • Shared boat excursions

🚌 By public transport

There is currently no direct bus to Cala Pregonda. You can:

  1. Take a bus to Es Mercadal
  2. Take a taxi to Binimel·là
  3. From there, walk to the cove
